"IF A TREE COULD TALK"
IF A TREE COULD TALK
Would it talk to the animals
Or to the wind each day?
Would it tell the other trees off?
Tell them it needed to stretch, get out of my way?
Maybe it would talk to the sun
To let it know how good it felt
Trying to reach for it was actually fun!
Maybe it would depend on what kind of tree it was
The mighty oak, ever so strong
Let the evergreens that bend so easy
Actually feel like maybe they belonged
Maybe the evergreens would tickle the oak
And let him know
He didn't always have to be so stoic
I suppose we'll never know for sure
Humans can't be still
They can't just sit and enjoy nature
What a shame that is
I bet the gnome's and the faery folk giggle
Watching the silly people
That can't sit still, and can only wiggle!
