TWISTED FATE
"TWISTED FATE"
By Dori Wheeler
Leaving the house one day, with kids in tow
I must've said the wrong thing at the wrong time
A rage was brewing, how was I to know?
This is the day I thought I was going to die
He picked me up by my throat
Out of the kitchen wall I had to pry
I don't know where all the anger came from this day
Why he get's off on hurting people
So very hard to say
From the wall to the floor he tossed me
His hunting knife gleaming at my throat
All of this for two small kids to see
The look in his eyes was so wild
"I'm going to kill you" is what he screamed
I was as helpless as a small child
I can only imagine the terror that my kids felt
They stood shaking and scared
But sadly, this was the hand I was dealt
This wasn't my husband or even a date
I was permenantly damaged by the hand of my blood
I was experiencing some twisted fate
Lucky to be alive is what I understood!
