"THE UPCOMING NIGHT"
THE UPCOMING NIGHT
{Dori Wheeler © 21sept09}
Sitting in her robe this beautiful night
trying to pick out the most lovely rose
thoughts of him giving her complete delight
her dad in the other room, he softly crows
"Be careful my darling daughter tonight
men can be such scoundrels with half a chance
please do not dress in attire that's too tight
be sure his hands can be seen at the dance"
"Oh my darling dad, you worry too much
I may be beautiful, and not a slouch
but I know about men and how they touch
he'll not get me alone on the couch"
These her words as she continues to dress
memories of the last encounter they had
loving his roaming hands she must confess
she wants to look alluring, he is no cad
Her mind wanders of the upcoming night
hoping so much that it turns out just right!
