A Girl Named Charlotte!
A Girl Named Charlotte!
It's been just over three years ago
We all prayed
For ten fingers, and ten toes
Long and pink with lungs so strong
So beautiful, so sweet
Certainly she belonged
My son is such a proud dad
Didn't seem so long ago
That he was just my wee lad
Milestone after milestone
It was plain to see
This li'l girl
Was meant to be
One day sitting atop a throne
I'm too young to be a Gram
Not my plan, not for me
But she was my girl
And I, her Grammy D
I wouldn't trade her
For all the land
Not even for
A really good man
Hair of flaxen, soft as silk
Eyes so blue
Skin like milk
But don't let her beauty fool you
She knows what she needs
And just how to get it
A smile from her
Could cure disease
My son thinks he has control
But at days end
She's the one who takes the toll
Tears in his eyes, tears of joy
Not so long ago
He was my boy
All this love
All this joy
All from a girl named Charlotte!
