"METAMORPHISIS"
"Metamorphisis"
Everything remains the same but change
It's a continuous flow, bad or good
Thunderous hoofbeats on an open range
Now the hoofbeats are silent, it's understood
Babies and butterflies are same
A seed fertilized in the womb
Little peapods without yet a name
And the metamorphisis starts in a cocoon
Safe and warm they grow
The seed becomes a fetus
Not yet ready to greet us and say hello
It's amazing to be the vessel and start to show
Time goes by, out of the cocoon comes a creature
The stage of chrysalis is at it's end
The creature is out, wiggles and bends
Out it comes, with such odd features
Labor begins along with hard contractions
A gush and a splash, the water is broken
All of this so surreal but yet just a fraction
It seems unbearable but really just a small token
A tiny little person comes out of the womb
First silence, then crying, then a squeal
All in an instant they fill the room
Sounds of new life, such a huge deal
Just like the beautiful baby that finally arrives
The creature from the cocoon
Turns into a beautiful butterfly free and alive
With the colors of the rainbow or flowers in bloom
The baby grows up and grows old
The butterfly's life is much shorter
But, eventually both lives will fold
Back to Mother Earth is the order
Metamorphisis from beginning to end
The only thing constant is change
It's from our Earth Mother we depend
Thunderous hoofbeats on the open range
Life, full circle we rend.
