"TRAPPED"
Trapped
When you're trapped in your head
The demons keeping you caged
It' doesn't matter what you've said
Try to walk through that door
Invisable locks and chains
You can not help but abhor
What happened to that girl
Never home, always with a crowd
Dancing around a drug induced twirl
Such a doll, an American Beauty
No matter what it took for her
To look that way was more of a duty
Belly up to the bar
Tequilia, salt and lemon
Made her feel like a movie star
Drowning sorrows of days gone by
Green and nasty peyote buttons
First get sick and then she could fly
Trapped in the image just like a portrait
Painted by the life she led
She didn't know how to stop the circuit
One minute she'd splurge
Fill her stomach like a starving pup
But, remorse and shame would make her purge
Terribley difficult to be a teen
Hair, clothes, tan and size
Just to be popular or even seen
So many times she wished to be fat
Then she'd know if "I love you"
Really meant that
Because all the boys loved her for a night
The next sun would rise
And it was a different plight
She grew up, a mom and a wife
It took all she had
To save their life
Now she put on that ton of weight
She wears it like armor
Heart protected from that painful fate
Still she has her beautiful features
But no matter what her size
Large or small, she feels like a creature
This lovely woman, outside and in
Must learn to trust
Before committing a mortal sin!
