They say this is the year of change
Our first leader not causcasion
I hope this opens it up free range

Finally worried about feeding the babes right here
Instead of feeding the world
When so many are hungry very near

Pulling the troops out of the Holy Land
Is something that should have happened long ago
Fighting fights that are not our own, time to make a stand

Our young men and women are sent from home
Most are still children really, and don't understand
I guess we can't make them live in a domb

We have the technollogy to do things green
Solar power and windmills could save so much
Yet we worry about oil, it's really obscene

I hope when you are reading this the abuse is done
We have suffered way too much
It has been really bad for some

Our jails are full of addicts and drunks
They need our help, to address the disease
Locking them away is not a slamdunk

A healthcare overhaul is what they say
I haven't seen much change so far
Our country is in dire straits, we can 't fix it all today!
