"MY EARTH, MY MOTHER"
MY EARTH, MY MOTHER
{Dori Wheeler 14sept09}
Mother Earth is my altar
In all her glory
She may never falter
Magical are her butterflies and rainbows
Science may explain them
But in brilliance of colors, She bestows
Diamonds and crystals dance in the night sky
In awe we look, watching, wondering
Bedazzled to the point of making us cry
Beautifully colored leaves dance in the autumn breeze
How does She do this?
The answers are whispered by magnificent trees
Mines filled with alluring gems
Simple rocks as beautiful as can be
Some so tiny, they need to be seen with a lens
Sunny days or stormy days, it does not matter
Equally tranquil in their own way
Something we just can not shatter
My earth, my mother, I feel so blessed
To have your love, to be your daughter
With your love, I am forever caressed!
