Poem Commentary

Ripped from the pages of my journal

Deja-Vu

Here I stand some thirty yards long
Tryin’ to do what is right, but still can’t hide from the wrong
My days of youth has long been gone
The bells of time begins to gong
As I looked back to see where my life went

I see how my future was tragically spent
Help me Lord, I’m failin’ to go on as though it may seem
Someone pinch me so I can wake from this horrible dream
Back when life was all new to me
The future there, I was too blind to see
So I dreamt my life away
Now in the present my hopes seems to fade
I hold on to my faith because it’s all I have now
Lord if I let go I know you will save me somehow

Lord if I let go I know you will save me somehow
I hold on to my faith because it’s all I have now
Now in the present my hopes seems to fade
So I dreamt my life away
The future there, I was too blind to see
Back when life was all new to me
Someone pinch me so I can wake from this horrible dream
Help me Lord, I’m failin’ to go on as though it may seem
I see how my future was tragically spent
As I looked back to see where my life went
The bells of time begins to gong
My days of youth has long been gone
Tryin’ to do what is right, but still can’t hide from the wrong
Here I stand some thirty yards long

have i read this already but just forgot to comment or did you just remove all the comment so everyone would read it again and feel like it was deja.hahah i find it hard no one has read this yet. but anyway love this very creative ( for a butthead hehe) i love how the poem repeats itself to give you the full effect of deja. also i really related to the your words. i think and feel like this all the time. i'm like have i spent to much time just thinking and wishing instead of doing. its like ok im gonna do that when i do this, but im not gonna do this until i do that. one day you wake up and find that life has pass you by and you still saying the same.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
