    Morning coffee can become an exciting experience if one pays attention.

    An Observation


    The Magpie and the Jay
    vying for peanuts from my squirrel feeder.
    The see-through window reveals the treats.
    Earlier Jays got easy pickings, but
    Magpies were watching, and now try their hand.
    Not nearly as cleaver - for here comes a Jay,
    and there goes the Jay with another peanut.
    Frustration abounds as the Magpie
    pecks at the plastic window, and
    the Jay takes another and flies away.

    My older brother lives in the country. He said that he loves to sit quietly and watch the shenanigans of nature. I guess the squirrel's will do just about anything to get at that seed.

    It is the squirrel's feeder, the birds - the bandits. But we are all nature for the viewing.

    An interesting morning indeed. This past spring i watched for quite a while the birds building their nests in the trees here. One straw, one blade of grass at a time, up and down they were so consistent.

    Smiles, sometimes it's so nice to just sit back and watch nature or even people go by. You demonstrate this beautifully with the greedy magpie here. It's nice to know the jays a smarter though when you see magpies or crows fighting... A refreshing read, well done!

    A few moments of observing nature in order to pass the time while the coffee in the cup cools. A soothing respite from the world that exists just beyond the click of the TV remote.
