    Poem Commentary

    Forever is a long time...

Pome to my Luv - Elly Mae

    I told ya that I luv'd ya
I gave ya my daddy's ring
Now ya've gone and lost it
    An' that's an awful thing

My daddy don't work there any more
    He got another job
All I got is a piece o' chain
    To use for daddy's fob

Jes as soon as I save up
    An' get a nother cigar
I'll get another ring fer ya
    The paper from the wrapper

Ya knows I luv ya Elly Mae,
I luv ya with all my heart
And as soon as I get that ring
    It's forever do us part.

[I'm sorry Elly Mae, I ain't much of a poet
    but I luvs ya]  Jed

TVLand is now the ultimate historical reference… leaving the Encyclopedia Britannica a poor second : )

I like this style.......My, Redneck Girl and Boy, was a bit like this... boys and girls in love, and just being plain folk is a lot easier than being grown up and being in debt..................very good work, my man.......................................gogant

Thank you G - sometimes the uneducated show the raw emotion and feelings the educated cover up. Thanks for reading.

Thanks Hamp. It's always fun to become a character. I mean another character...

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.

    T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
