    Poem Commentary

    The older we get, the more we remember those 'old days.'

    THE OLD SONGS
    Remember the old songs
    When the words would touch the heart
    When we would tell the world
    Of the two that would never part

    Those words were never shouted
    But spoken soft and low
    They'd tell of undying love
    That would forever grow

    We would stand on the nightly corner
    With our voices full and clean
    And sing - 'I love you, as I loved you
    When you were sweet sixteen'

    Remember the band that played
    On the Square each Saturday night
    And we listened hand in hand
    Then held each other tight

    So many years have passed on
    And Dear, those songs have too
    And many singers are silent
    But once more I sing for you

    I sing of my undying love
    As I did from the very start
    With a voice not as good as it once was
    But you know it is from my heart

    It's like we are still together
    Not like I am all alone
    For you have not left my side Dear
    In my heart we still are one

    i know that kind of love i see we both had it . great write Bill i see you put you heart into this and i to love the old songs . On day we will hear them again Marie
