    Battles within self

                            Time stands still, but my mind is still in motion
                        Standing on land, yet still adrift out on this ocean..
                           Ocean of love, but torn between hate
                        Knowing my destination, but can't figure my fate..

                            Eyes closed tight, but I can see everything
                        Deaf to the world, still I hear your heart sing..
                            Following a straight path, but I still walk in circles
                        Feeling good, yet my heart hurts too..

                            Looking into the world, and seeing nothing at all
                        Standing on my own two feet, but off of them I fall..
                            Trying to be strong, damn I'm physically weak
                        Forming words mentally, but my lips won't speak..

                           Asking for help, but pride keeps it in
                        Asking forgiveness, yet everyday I continue to sin..
                           I smile outside, but inside I'm kicking and screaming
                        Knowing all of the answers, but still I chase meaning..
