Help me to Understand
Water beats on my head, runs down my backRoom full of steam, I take this time to relax
And think about things, through times history
Why the world is as it is, to me is a mystery
Why people hate me, for the color of my skin
When we all breathe the same air, when will we begin
To accept the fact, we're all created equal
But that's not for me to decide, I'll wait for the sequel
Why create a weapon, that could destroy the world
Do they not think of the futures, of little boys and girls
People making promises, they can't hang with
And we're suppose to set examples, I'm sick of this shit
Why do we argue, over the name of God
Because that person believes something else, he's a dog
Black, white, asian, hispanic, you breathe as I breathe
And through destruction of hate, you bleed as I bleed
Racially profiled, because I drive a nice car
Or I only made it to college, because I'm a sports star
My ancestors took the beatings, was that not enough blood
I wish things could turn, so others can see what
It was for them, and how it is for me
But that's just a thought, here in reality
The ones you love, turn on you most
So I stand up tall, head high, and clear my throat
I can only speak my piece, to whom wants to hear what I say
Remember, we all have to account for our actions one day
