I Try

                            I can't soar like a bird,  broken wings
                         I thirst, but I only find waterless streams
                             I listen so hard, yet hear no sound
                         Try and be free, but my hands are bound

                          I try and teach, but have no one to learn
                             Water dampens the flame, still I burn
                     Sweat glistens my skin, tell me how when it's cold
                        Turn towards God, the devil torments my soul

                         I try and scream as I cry, but I can't speak
                      Trying to pull myself up, yet my arms can't reach
                           Looking for so much, my eyes went blind
                     Trying to move forward, it's like I'm played in rewind

                          I try and stand up, and my legs won't move
                    Accomplished so much, but still have so much to prove
                            I try and sit still, yet forward ticks time
                           I try and try so hard, am I losing my mind
