Memory Lane
I remember hearing your cries, through the wall when I was a kidThe struggles, and the wonders of why life is
So harsh, to the ones who deserve so much more
I never got an answer, as I cureled in a ball on the floor
I remember having to light candles, because we had no lights
And the Kerosine heater, to keep us warm at night
Rice and eggs for dinner, I remember your fake smiles
Trying to warm the room, your love was tender and mild
I remember your kiss, before you sent me off to school
Even when knowing that when I hit the streets, I would act a fool
Fighting all the time, mom you didn't raise a punk
Remember showing me how to build a bike, out of pieces of junk
I remember you told me, to always protect my sisters
And no matter what people said about me, to ignore their whispers
You always told me, to chase the thing I want in life
And when i talk to people, to look a man in the eyes
I remember how men mistreated you, constantly breaking your heart
Even though I was young I understood, and it tore me apart
I remember the good, the bad, and all that was for us
This is my dedication to you, Merry christmas
