Words of Wisdom
She wore a red dress, her purse at her side.. On the sidewalk she sat, tears she cried.. Taking a place by her side, this girl I didn't know.. But as she cried, it deeply hurt my soul.. She began to speak, as I took my place.. By her side, I could now see her face.. She says to me, "I'm tired, tired of it all".. She places her head on my shoulder, I place my back on the wall.. She continues.. " I allow him to hurt me, over and over again".. "Tonight he slapped me, and left with my friend".. "He beats me, but I can't walk away".. "And when i try, he convinces me to stay".. "He leaves me at home, and stays out all night".. Her tears fell faster, I reach over to wipe.. Them from her face, and say a few words.. "I'm going to say something that needs to be felt, not just heard".. "Everyone must go through the struggle, to find that light".. "He's a fool for his wrongs, and one day he might".. "See what he messed up, but you have to walk away".. More turmoil and pain will come, if you decide to stay".. "What type of man, puts his hands on his queen".. You deserve so much more, do you see what I mean".. " Yes I know it's hard, but life isn't easy".. "Along the way you'll meet good people, but most will be sleezy".. "Keep your grass cut low, watch for the snakes".. "The pain is a must, make no mistake".. "Easier it gets, I can tell you that".. "You have to walk away, and don't look back".. She looks at me, with a smile on her face.. "Oh my God, I feel like my life you've saved".. "Thank you so much, that I needed to hear".. I said to her "that's the first step, there's nothing to fear".. She gave me a hug, i helped her to stand.. She kissed my cheek, and gripped my hand.. As we parted ways, she seemed less stressed.. Now every time I pass that street, I wonder what happened to the girl in the red dress..
