    Poem Commentary

    A few of you may remember the poem I wrote "My Best Friend". well this poem is about the same person. well, he wasnt an actual person but he was still my closest friend. he had been through everthng with me. big moves, seperation from my ex- husband, my divorce, betrayal of my mother, loss of my daughter, the following depression, finding out i was pregnant, sicknesses, etc. you name it and he was there with me. now he's gone. he got very sick and after all he had done for me all i could do for him was let him go.

    Death of My Best Friend

     Good- bye my friend.
    I love you so.
    With you gone,
    My heart has sunk low.

    Always you were there for me.
    Always my closest friend.
    Through thick and thin we have made it,
    Neither willing to give up or give in.

    When I was sick, you stayed by my side.
    You let me hold you when I needed to cry.
    My best friend you have always been.
    To live without you seems a sin.

    I don't think I ever said it enough,
    How much I love you my sweet dear one.
    But I hope I showed you every single day.
    You filled my heart in your own special way.

    Cuddling with you always brightened my day.
    Holding you close could steal my pain.
    What do I do without you here?
    My best friend is gone, no longer near.

    But because I love you I let you go.
    Now you won't suffer long and slow.
    You are at peace now that you sleep,
    Though my pain still runs so very deep.

    I know one day I will see you again,
    When my time has finally come to its end.
    You will always be held in my heart.
    My dearest friend from the start.
