Belief
I refuse to give up.
I refuse to lose hope.
I refuse to despair.
I refuse to let go.
You need time?
Take all you need.
I'll still be here,
Waiting until your ready.
You think we moved to fast.
I don't agree.
But I'll give you your space,
With the belief you'll come back to me.
That will give me strength,
This conviction I have in us.
I can't believe fate would bring us back together,
Just for us to fail at the first hurdle.
We both fell hard,
Probably harder than either of us imagined.
But my heart won't change,
Just because of time's passage.
I know you think your protecting me.
And yes that's very sweet.
But I'm a big girl now,
Not the frail child I use to be.
So take a step back,
If that's what you need.
I'll still be here,
Arms open and heart waiting.
