Finally

Finally

There is a peace that settles over your soul when you realize your wings are no longer clipped.
There is a freedom that envelopes and consumes your heart when you finally spread those wings and fly free for the first time in so long you were sure you had forgotten how to fly at all.
There is a beauty when you finally see the world again with eyes that are no longer blinded or covered or shrouded in a haze of someone else's lies and manipulations.
Finally my eyes are clear and my mind is at peace and my heart is free in a way that they haven't been for so long that I'd forgotten what it was like to just breathe.
I purged all the toxicity out of my life and pulled close those that are true and want nothing from me but honest friendship.
The voice that I lost is slowly coming back with the help of those who want nothing more than my true self to shine through with a brightness that would rival the sun and I will never be voiceless again.
Never again will I hide, never again will i cower in the recesses of my mind scared to be me, scared to show me, scared to tackle any obstacles that comes in my path.
This road will be long but at the end of it I will be me again, I will have found that lost scared woman who has been fighting for so long just to survive and together we will walk into the light and never look back.
