    Poem Commentary

This started out as a poem for my ex (b4 we got married)and somehow, only God knows why, it ended up as a song. ive never written a song before so im not sure if this is any good. i started it 05-22-02 and it never felt finished until 06-27-02. when i was finally done this is what i got.

    Perfect World

    Everyone wants to live,
    In a perfect world.
A place where there's nothing but happiness,
    An people never get hurt.
    Well I don't believe there's such a place,
Based on the facts at hand.
I'd be glade to tell you them,
If you care enough to give a damn.
         In the perfect world,
         You would always be here.
         In the perfect world,
         There'd be nothing to fear.
         You'd never have the fear,
         Of trying to survive lonliness.
         You'd never have the fear,
         Of crying alone in darkness.
And you'd never have to face,
         Telling someone good-bye.
So how can this be a perfect world if all these
         things don't hide.
I always knew fate was cruel,
But no one ever believed me.
Now I have all the proof,
    That I'll ever need.
    Because your not here,
    And your nowhere around.
You had someplace you needed to go,
But I hope you always know,
         That in my perfect world,
         You would always be here.
         And in my perfect world,
I'd no longer have to fear.
         I'd never have to fear,
         Trying to survive lonliness.
         I'd never have to fear,
         Crying alone in darkness.
And would not have had to face,
         Telling you good-bye.
So how can this be a perfect world,
Because all of this has happened in my life.
    But I'm not really worried,
Because i Know you'll come home,
Holding me in your arms and showing me your love.
    You'll come back,
    Having learned so much.
You'll be better than the best,
    Smarter than the rest.
         Because in my perfect world,
         Your finally here.
         And in my perfect world,
I no longer have to fear.
         I don't have to fear,
         Trying to survive lonliness.
         I don't have to fear,
         Crying alone in darkness.
And I may have to say,
         Good-bye again.
         But that's ok,
Because my world is becoming perfect.
