    Stoned Love

    Stoned Love

Broken down and feeling strangled, in this world I am entangled

With my heart and feelings mangled, pray you save me........

When I return and asemble my pride and begin to pick up stride

You come around to steal inside, won’t you entreat me…..

If love is truly genuine and my love, should we arise again,

Marking your name upon my heart, will you desire me………

If our love becomes as stone and your love you have not shone,

    Can you release me…..

    -M. Jacobs

This is a beautiful powerful, yet tender message in prose. I can almost feel the tormented heartache with which this piece overflowed from your heart...the truths in this are stark and deep..thank you for sharing such a personal write... : )

Thanks for your perceptive comments. I appreciate your sincerity and understanding.

i agree with jade that this is perfection of words. Your message was delivered strong and with passion of a raw mind

Thanks for this kind compliment to this prose. It has a special personal meaning to me.

"Love me or free me," those on again off again clingers who can't give but only take really suck the life out of a person, married or not. Only a tender soul still asks, not demands...

For sure, Love can only flourish when it is free to expand and express and feel confident only with assurance that the love will remain, as well. Thanks for your comment.

What a powerful message! For if the love has evaporated, the print upon the glass will show...A well-articulated piece. Great job!

Yes you got it. Thanks for expressing that.

You certainly have a way with words - you convey so much in a short and beautiful poem. Nice work!

Stoned Love was written very quickly, as many of mine are and I felt a compulsion when writing it. Thanks for reading it and for your thoughtful perspective.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.
