As It Was

As It Was

She wants dreams
like the homeless children on TV.
She has pretty eyes
that draw in all the hormonal boys.
She has a big heart
but what everyone sees are the breasts
covering it.
I can see past her.
I can see her,
beautiful,
at ease.

The way she is,
as it was.

ive read all of your works and i think so far that this is my favorite :). i really enjoy reading your style of writing and wish i could do the same, all i write is lyrical and so i never get many ratings or comments. You write very beautiful works, perhaps you should look into publication :) David

I have been thinking about publication... But everything has to be perfect... And I'm never satisfied with my work... It's a strange process. Thank you for the lovely comment. :)

Very inspirational, and it's sad to know how many people are like this.

Nice and simple write, real beauty is something that comes from within;)

wanting...hoping... and needing for people to see past the surface of things... everything and everyone has depth and it all but ignored the cast majority of other people... good job as usual...

Thank you, Dano. :)

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
