    Poem Commentary

I wrote this for a boy that I like... :) He's very special to me.

    Your Light

    My summer was interrupted,
    cracked, broken.
    Disturbed by a warm presence.
    And now, it seems,
that I don't want to do anything
    without you by my side.
    I find myself thinking
    of your warm hands
    around mine,
    and your half smile
    growing in my eyes.
    Your arms enveloping me
    in an embrace of promise.
    And you told me,
    that I was beautiful.
And it was then that my heart
    swelled in my chest.
    Then you took my hand
and led me away from the darkness of my life,
    and into the light
    of our future.

"My summer was interrupted, cracked, broken. Disturbed by a warm presence. And now, it seems, that I don't want to do anything without you by my side"—the honesty here in this line is so beautiful and delicate. And then the poem itself is perches upon perfection. Bravo!!

Oh young, so long ago. Holding hands, that first tingle that you'll always long for. Spending an entire day at a Hall Mark store looking for that perfect card to show how you feel. Thanks for the trip down memory lane. Great poem.

    Thank you... Hehe. :)

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.
