    Flattery

     pledged words never given voice
    entwined souls without a choice
    unspoken here forever lie
    exquisite truths so quick to die

    enchant and spellbind by intent
    and so embed with veiled hint
    in splendid verse did so array
    without intention to betray

    I'll not hide from rage filled eye
    your words entrance, there is no lie
    pierced again, but through the heart
    for practicing such guilty art

    blood-red rose thick with thorn
    prick me with your hateful scorn
    but loving still your blade do sheathe
    my raptured death thereby achieve

    unholy rage on which we feed
    mirrors dark reflecting need
    pain that's shared will never sunder
    or enslave with fearful wonder

    consider well this tale spun
    before denying you're the one
    from your cup I've drunk my fill
    why would you deny me still?

    Fantastic choice of words and weaving of the same---lending some very intense verse to be felt, truly felt. Notes: Stanza 2, line 2--subtle loss of meter; and the last stanza is a shorter meter count than all the others---don't know if this was intentional or experimental. Regardless---these technical tid-bits don't detract from the overall piece--nice stuff!

    I interpret that the flattery is fake, and people use it too freely. I also got kinda a spiritual vibe. Well wrtten.
