    Poem Commentary

    I dedicate this poem to my sister who has passed. She loved the fifty's music. It was her time to shine. She danced while I played hop scotch. Our poneytails bobbed with ribbons of many colors. She was good to me. When I hear the fifty's music. I think of her and how blessed I was to have her.

    Close your eyes

     Close your eyes come with me
    Let me take you back
    A time when life was full of fun
    White and black checker board squares
    Was a floor to dance on
    Hop scotch metal skates
    Come on lets play
    To the tune of the Big Bopper
    Poodle skirts Levi jeans
    White tee shirts
    Music to dance to

    Take my hand
    We'll rock an roll
    We'll have a lot of fun

    We'll play records by Elvis
    Get lost in the fifthies 

    Ponytails and short hair cuts
    Scarfs  hanging from our ponies
    Black and white shoes
    They never wore out

    Buick's ,Ford's Chev's
    Were top of the line
    You by my side
    In a Cadillac CoupEville

    I was ten you but a teen
    It's the music that takes me back
    To a time when I looked up
    To you my sis
    Now I am lost in the fifties
    without you

    Betty I wish I grew up during that fond time...You remoniss well.Maybe if we work harder at our spelling and see how others are writting we may both improve yet...This poem has great potential.The part your excellent at is your comentaries...I felt like I knew her...

    Hi I was only ten but I remember. My sister was a teen. I grew up in the sixties and seventies.She had so much fun.I had good memories.

    Hey Stever the 70's were cool days too. The days of long skirts, hair hippy type clothes wild music! New age for sure. My brother and I were in the baby booming age.A year to remember.
