If you could see through my window

Poem Commentary

This reminds me of how hard it is for others who are less fortunate to have sight. How fortunate for those who do. God bless them all. May there someday be the cure needed.

If you could see through my window

If you could see through my window
You would truly understand
It gets clouded with an image of you
I can't see through
If you could see through my window
It would open your heart to a better understanding of me
The image I see is clouded but I know you are there
Watching me seeing me through
You are the best thing that ever happened to me
But I am blinded by it all
Blind I can not see
Hold my hand lead me
You are my inspiration
Someday when my eyes are free
My vision won't be clouded
You'll look through my window
There I will be watching me watching you
Free from the clouds that hinder me

This is exactly why kindness is so monumental. We just cannot see what the other person is going through, or where they have been. You are a woman aware of others in a major way...this makes you very, very important. Take care dear lady.

Seeing through the eyes of another gives light. Impaired vision blocks the world out as we see it. It inlightens our world to what others may not see.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
