The Thunder Roared
There was a time long agoWhen the sun set long upon the day
A day drifted by into the night
Quietly night fell
The sound of crickets filled the air
The feel of the wind softly carring
The sound of the hooting owl
With a puffed up chest
Eyes that glow in the dark
Feathers ruffled a breast
Somethings out there
A gentle misty breeze
Turns to a roaring thunder
Lightning strikes piercing the night
The owl takes flight
From a distance like fire
It's piercing sword strikes
Trees catch on fire
Animals ran for shelter
The river raged flowing
Across the meadows
Interred a raging flow
Slapping the walls
The smell of evening musk
Turning to the stinch of the river
The rush of water sent
Homes down the river
Cries echoed through the night
No help in sight
Animals scurried for higher places
Some swallowed beneath
The raging waters
People floating down
Fear filled the air
On a roof top sat
clinging for life
The cat
A branch the hoot owl found
He screeched
