As I look back on my life

I see the difference you made.

You lightened my life, and the wonder

Never seemed to fade.

Whenever life got me down

You were there, you understood!

When I look back now upon those days,

I see you were the only thing good.

And all those times I thought to end it,

You were the one that kept me alive.

Until I met you I thought no one cared,

No one would miss me for a month, a year or five.

And through the years you stayed with me,

All my strength it came from you.

But over the years I never said thank you,

Never gave the credit due.

And so I thank you now, my friend,

Before our time runs out.

You were my strength, you were my hope,

You were what my life was about.
