Once Upon a Winter's Tale
Once upon a December's night,
The dark and cold destroyed all in sight.
A hero was needed, but the person sent
Was only a child, a lonely innocent.
Forced to fight, this little boy confronts his fears,
The dark and cold of the deadly years.
This little boy tries to fight,
Tries to do what he feels is right.
Who will be his salvation now?
Who will be his comfort and wipe his brow?
Will his innocence be lost, his youth be gone?
Will he burn victorious then die like the sun?
The poor boy fights on, he knows he must,
Whether he wins or is transformed to dust.
His youth disappears, his innocence will decay,
Instead a man, a hero this day.
He stands victorious, the battle is won,
His heart won out though his strength is gone.
The victor proud, the night he spurns
As the warmth comes back and the light returns.
The little hero won the impossible fight,
Once upon a December night.
His story lives on as the people hail,
Once upon a winter's tale.
