Take My Heart
Take my heart away from me,
I don't want it any more.
It causes me so much pain
That I can't see what it's for.
Separate my heart and mind,
For they believe in different things.
My head wants power and it wants hate,
My heart beats for romance and rings.
Filled with confusion my heart is scarred,
I can't tell what I am today -
You broke my spirit into pieces,
And laughed as you walked away.
Scatter my heart upon the wind,
I don't want it any more.
It causes me so much pain
That I can't see what it's for.
Separate my heart and mind,
For they believe in different things.
My head wants power and it wants hate,
My heart beats for romance and rings.
Filled with confusion my heart is scarred,
I can't tell what I am today -
You broke my spirit into pieces,
And laughed as you walked away.
Scatter my heart upon the wind,
To the edges of the earth.
I don't want the reminder of your love -
This pain is more than life is worth.
Ask God if he knows why life is so,
Filled with pain and tears.
Ask if there's a reason you broke my heart,
And left me with these fears.
Take my heart away from me,
I can't keep it any more.
Your face haunts my dreams and thoughts,
And I need to close that door.
