Silence
Your silence can be cruel,
It cuts me to the bone.
Every time you leave in silence,
I've never felt more alone.
You are the one person I wish to speak,
The one I need to hear.
But still you remain in merciless silence,
Your silence has become my fear.
I cannot bring myself to go to you,
Your silence shows my love is wrong,
But I so long to hear your voice,
As we sing a cliched love song.
Your cold, harsh silence wounds me,
In ways I thought it never could.
What did I do to deserve this from you?
If I could make you speak, I would.
So now you see my desperate plea,
Release me from this curse.
Whatever punishment you wish for me,
You silence is far worse.
Please torment me for no longer,
More silence I couldn't bear.
Your silence brings more pain than a thousand knives,
But to speak to you I don't dare.
