Hiding
Struggling through my life,
Trying so hard to hide
Everything I really feel -
To look, would you know I'd lied?
Trying to smile through endless pain,
Pretending I'm happy each day.
A false smile there to hide my tears,
Inside I'm screaming the pain away.
Trying to pretend I'm not alone,
Reaching out to you.
Trying so hard to make you notice
That my life is no longer true.
Each day my life becomes a play,
And I'm not sure of my lines.
Reaching out to the dark from my empty stage,
My life is no longer mine.
I know you love me for who I was,
But I'm not sure who I am.
Trying to become the mask I use,
But I'm not sure if I can.
Trying to hide the pain I feel,
But I hope you'll see it all.
I need to know I'm not alone,
I need your heart to hear my call.
