In My Sleep
I hear your soothing voice,
As it whispers in my sleep.
Each time I hear it you take something,
And now it's my heart you keep.
You're always gone when I awake,
And I can't know that it was real.
I wish that I could see your face,
And tell you how I feel.
Every night in my dreamless sleep,
In your voice I feel your pain.
Yet you hide it, and come and go
As quickly as falling rain.
Tell me, is it all a dream?
I wish it would never end,
For you now own my heart and soul,
They're both yours to defend.
Your voice echoes in my sleep,
Soft, kind, loving and true.
I wish you were always with me,
For I always have loved you.
