Time and Punishment
Darkened whispers, hidden threats
The price we pay for our shameful debts.
Our sins and crimes take over our souls
We don't see why this is the way it goes.
Punishment and love go hand in hand,
We accept our fate as grains of sand,
Time is all we are ever sent
To wait out our lives and find out what they meant.
We toss and turn in the silence that follows,
Hidden in time, all its' meaningless hollows.
A punishment fits both the guilty and innocent
There is no meaning behind it but it's heaven sent.
Time is constant, judging us all,
We love it and fear it though it causes our downfall.
Time and punishment, hand in hand,
Weaving their spell all over the land.
