Hidden Stories
Find the stairs down through the earth,Descend beneath the streets:
You’ll find a place of sorrow & mirth,
A place of quiet peace.
You can feel the ages in the walls,
As the weight of history unfolds.
Every street has a secret that calls,
Each room a story to be told.
Hear the tales of those long gone,
Walk the paths on which they stepped.
Hear their stories live on and on,
Those the world will not forget.
Feel the peace in every room,
Four hundred years of time.
You may think “this passed too soon,
But for a second this was mine”.
Men and women from times long passed,
Lead you through the dark.
You can see their lives in shadows cast,
Where each story left its mark.
So feel the tales in the calming peace,
Feel their memories preserved:
For hidden ‘neath the city streets,
The past lies, undisturbed.
