Sitting in the Dark
Alone in the dark,
My wild thoughts fly around.
And as I sit and think of you,
My tears flow without a sound.
Lonely without you,
But I can't have you near.
The cruelty of my loveless fate sinks
In an ocean of desperate fear.
I love you my darling,
That's all – I swear I do.
If I could have one thing in this world,
All I would want is you.
You don't know that I am here,
And I suspect you never will.
So I sit in silence and think of you,
Alone in the dark and the still.
I wish one day you would think of me,
In the way I think of you.
I hope that one day I can leave the dark,
And make my way back to you.
