On A Faraway Shore
See her standing on a faraway shore,
She waits for the day her love will return.
He promised her his love, his life and more,
But death was a lesson she had to learn.
Her eyes are now dry from so many tears,
And so for her love she will simply wait.
He promised he would return - through these years
She thought he would, and so confirmed her fate.
She stands alone, she watches for her love,
But after all these years there is no sign.
As she stands and waits her thoughts fly above,
'Bove the world that forgot and drinks its wine.
For those of you whose thoughts are of never,
Take heed, for this woman stands forever.
