Love Can Be the Death of You
A hand on her throat,
She gasps for air.
The darkness closes in
And traps her there.
Their tainted love
Will be her death.
She sees the truth
As she struggles for breath.
She feels her bones crushed
By the weight of his hate.
She knows now that death
Has become her new fate.
She prays to her God
To bring her to peace.
Her tears the sole answer,
Till she finds her release.
She feels her soul float,
Fly up through the sky.
She looks down to see
Where her body does lie.
