I'll Never Be That Girl
I'll never be that girl that lights up a room,You can ask for the sun but I'll give you the moon.
Always looking for what I cannot be,
Asking for signs that I just can't see.
I'll never be that girl that you dream of at night,
An un-memorable face when gone from sight.
Walking alone through this difficult life,
Feeling that pain cut me like a knife.
I'll never be that girl that you miss when she's gone,
An invisible voice singing a silent song.
You'll never wonder who I am,
Never know me enough to understand.
I'll never be that girl that captures your heart,
That catches your breath right from the start.
You'll never ask me my fears and dreams:
Never share in my joy or silence my screams.
I'll never be that girl that floats on air,
Full of grace and beauty, without a care.
I'll never be that girl that is completely free:
But what I can be, is simply me.
