My Love
I heard your voice and I instantly knew,
All I needed was there in you.
One quick glance from your hypnotic eyes
And I knew you'd seen through all my lies.
Your smile moved to the point of tears,
You fill me with light, with heat that sears.
I knew I couldn't let it end right there,
You instantly had my love, my care.
You never knew me, you don't even now,
But you still help me through the dark somehow.
I would give anything for you to love me,
I only wish that you could see.
I always thought that dreams were stone,
Ever ageless and hopeful though we're still alone.
But then I met you and my dreams had come true,
Everything I'd ever dreamed of was there in you.
My love for you gives both joy and pain,
As I ever long to see you again.
Each time we meet I fall further still,
But when we fall too deep our love can kill.
My love is a song that can never be sung,
A chimeless bell that will never be rung.
A silent love that will always last,
A love for the future stretching into the past.
If only you loved me but I know you never can,
For such is the perilous fate of man.
I wish you knew that how I feel is true.
I wish I could tell you this poem is for you.
