    Death of Promise

    I sit and wait
    to determine our fate
    my vision blurred
    by sticky tears
    the desk is spread
    with our happy pictures
    memories destroyed in a moment
wishing I wouldn't have done it
    losing someone so close
    hating them so much
    there is only liqour
and the pleasure of someone elses touch
I sit and wait without hope
    without expectation
wanting to wake up next to you
and not remember your failed devotion
    this notion of forgiveness
    I cannot accept
    now my mornings are full
    of longing and regret
the peace I find is from second to second
    till im sober and alone
    and I remember the sins
of someone who will never atone
in my eyes you are alive
in my heart you are dead
in my soul we are lost
    and im sick with dread
    so I sit and wait
    inhale…intoxicate
    methods of release to ease
    the sickness in my soul
and the fear in my heart
    that my last chance parted
with a kiss on her lips
    wet with promises
    that will never be released

I can feel your pain just from your words - and it is raw - keep writing

I liked this one a lot. Loved the flow and content. You certainly have a way with words.

ooo depression. Who as a poet has not experienced these emotions. Words put together nicely stanzas well formed. I like it.

This is really very well written. I liked your grandma poem better though. You make a better optimist than pessimist, and death is too permanent.
