    Poem Commentary

    Satan has been messing with me a lot in the last few years.  I have chronic pain. which is quite terrible.  I also deal with alcoholism and substance abuse.  I started thinking about why should I let him get the best of me.  After all, I'm saved, I'm baptized.  So I said to him, bring it on sucker, you don't scare me.  I am a child of God, filled with His Holy Spirit, and saved through Christ's sacrifice for all of us.  It's satan who should be shaking in his cloven boots, not us Christians.  I say to he.. with him,  LOL

     "C'mon Gimme Your Best"

    with temptation
    satan faces the danger of realization
    by the tempted
    with greater fear and greater foe
    may come a greater need to know
    may come the desire for the wisdom
    of just how great a spirit may grow
    the evil one comes around for awhile
    then says later I'll come back
    he needs a break before a fresh, stronger attack
    only thing is, the danger in that
    is that he may awaken the desire to fight back
    he may scare the hell out of you
    he just might drive you insane
    "with that he hopes to win a soul"
    "NOT MINE PAL"
    however, that also might cause one to think
    why am I tortured so much?
    why not welcome the fight?
    c'mon gimmee your best
    no matter what, I'll keep the faith
    even now I can see how I may seem to ramble
    Believe me! I know that I am in control
    I have a strong spirit
    I have a stronger faith in God
    satan attacks me in my dreams
    he attacks while I'm awake
    but no matter how it may seem
    I am here and he will not win my soul.
    C'mon gimmee your best!.
