"Poetry Town" (Vampire Poets Be Aware)
no one comes to Poetry Town
no one comes here anymore
used to be one could find all around
women, men, drugs and such
no one hangs around here very much
and that is for shore, no one dare
come here anymore
from Poetry Town we embark
to roam the silent alleys and bleed
the shattered dry in the dark of dark
swallow their blood until they are dry
hearing the veins and arteries die
dry as a dune in a desert land
as they must be for me to go back
to want to go back to vampire land
Poetry Town was once a nice place
anyone who was anyone had to at least
show their face occasionally
slowly dying for lack of fresh blood
Poetry Town became a new type of place to hole up at day
some used to dare to venture back there
none returned save one of a pair
whose lover had turned and fought
with him there
now she’s mine and we often go out
visiting wherever need finds us out
we’ve et every poet and writer to boot,
now we wonder what next we will do
I’m for leaving Poetry Town,
yet she has what I need to keep me around
and she wants us to keep hanging out
one thing is certain in Poetry Town
I am the best poet that is still around
