The Heart Of The Moon
“The Heart Of The Moon”
on foggy morning their songs are heard
there’s no description, there are no words
to tell so well the call of the loon
their songs echo the heart of the moon
their lovely cries
the loneliest sounds
that on this earth will ever be found
the tunes they croon to the morning mist
the lonesomest sound in the east or west
I love gray mornings because they bring
the loveliest birds
the ones who sing
the songs that echo the heart of the moon
the lonesome, lovely, song of the loon.
