"First He Cried"
“First He Cried”
His tears were the stars in the sky,
stars of devotion and love,
falling for those whose innocence died,
oceans of love from above.
Darkness came
among the clouds,
of human pain,
beneath the shrouds of stars.
Then we cried,
far too late,
we searched for pride,
we found hate.
I remember the day the nations cried,
staggering pain we tried to deny
gnawing away deep down inside.
I remember the day our innocence died,
I saw the hurt in Our Fathers Eyes.
The weight of the world fell on our shoulders, hobos, teachers, millwrights, and soldiers,
searching for ways to be braver and bolder,
the ways of the world grew colder and colder,
cold as the evil ones eyes.
We covered our hurt by searching for pride,
we struggled, we tried, the world still decried,
the horrible loss…..deep down inside,
deep as the loss in Our Father’s Eyes.
The way of the world slips from our shoulders;
every day……….we get a bit
older,
the money machine only grows bolder,
hearts empty out,
they just cannot hold there,
the angry visions of God’s Eyes.
Remember the way our innocence died,
all of our dreams fell by the side,
we struggled with hope……..then let it die.
We must renew Love,
at least we must try!!!
To soften the pain in Our Lord’s Eyes.
We must conquer war,
you’ve heard that before,
we must deny hate,
and learn to relate.
We must find our way to realities door,
and be a bright star in God’s Eyes.
I remember the day John Kennedy died.
