"Faith"
“Faith”
He’ d never walked so far,
stumbling blindly , his spirit in pain,
more pain than in all his 98 years combined
for all of those years he’d been searching,
for the man he finally got to see ,
a man younger than his youngest grandchild,
soon he thought he understood ,
that he was in the presence of God,
what he saw blinded him with hurt and pain,
his disappointment was immeasurable,
so far beyond anguish,
unendurable , agonizing, helplessness unable to understand ,
his disappointment , His lost hope destroyed by death!!!
Ho could not believe it!!!
the death he had just witnessed crushed everything,
brought darkness to a life once alive with hope,
now as he lurched despairingly down the hill,f
from the place of skulls,
walking arm in arm , with agony of lost faith,
his beliefs for all those years had been futile,
worse, they were foolish ,
in the face of the darkness he had just become a part of,
for hours, he didn’t know how many days he lay in dull apathy,
slowly time moved on,
then one day he went back,
back to where more than one life had ended,
back to where his soul had died,
to where he had given up on life,
he stood there for hours,,
wishing for true physical death,
after all, he was just a pitifully lost old man,
of no use to anyone or anything,
“Then!” He heard a word,
it shouted throughout his being,
his mind somehow knew that ,
there truly was another side to life,
that day he saw His Savior’s Face,
the Truth had truly set him free!
he saw the reality of Our Father’s Grace,
as he was lifted up on Angel’s Wings.
