"Went To The Hospital Today"


had an accident today and went to see a doctor
bleeding quite heavily I didn't see what's coming
have you insurance they said while my artery
still bled I said do you want to see me dead
send me a doctor quickly for I am feeling sickly

as soon as I see ID and a medical card or three
I will see what I can do to see you make it through
the medics cut off my pants and there is very little
chance I've hidden them inside me as I continued to bleed
I repeated my need for speed in putting me back together
I know I will not live forever but today is not the day
I want to pass away

she looked at me quite prim as I began feeling grim
and said if you have no cards to show you will have
to go to the clinic far south
I showed her the pulsing blood which resembled
a red flood
she shook her head as if I were already dead
and repeated my need to go for they would not
work to check the flow of red

that might have been the end until I thought ahead
and said "if I die my wife will sue and the name at the
head of the list will be no one else but YOU!"
you shoulda seen her face like she was sprayed with mace
she found me a place to heal when she began to feel
a threat that might cost from her own purse
if she didn't let me go first

a miracle surely happened when a doctor soon appeared
and said I'd no more to fear as he would sew me up
and watch me a day or two
what wonders may happen when some one says to you
it will be you for sure my widow will sue
