"The Legacy Of Sin'
“The Legacy Of Sin”
If men were here ten trillion years
The thing we’d learn the best
Would not be love or happiness
Or anything so sweet
The only skill in which we excel
Is finding more efficient ways to kill
From our start we don’t look for peace
You’d think we’d learn to enjoy life
We covet this, we must have that,
We’ll get it anyway we can
We’ll do anything to posses what brings
Pleasure to ourselves
It seems to be an easy thing to get along
To tolerate each other
But if you have what I want you will learn
That I will take what I want from another
Such is the state of things between each other.
The lessons of ten trillion years are the same as
Four billion more or less
Wars are fought for covetousness if one wants what
Rightly belongs to another.
The legacy of sin.
