"To Him Who Made The Stars"
"To He Who Made The Stars"
By Joseph Vance & Sam Hyde
Peace in the night
when I kneel
before You
As I raise my tired eyes toward heaven,
I catch a glimpse of the moon
As it appears from behind lazy clouds
and I remember who made all things
and your peace descends once
again on my heart
such placid beauty at night
the heavens aflame with starlight
calms my troubled mind
and;
illuminates my soul when I see but one star in the sky,
knowing that the same light which gave it life
has called me to a new birth in the midst of
the black hole of eternity
where darkness awaits those
who reject peace in their heart
and have never knelt in prayer
amid the starry hosts
of heaven
Like Cain, they are wroth at having their
less than worthy offering rejected.
They do not view the night as a time to notice God's handiwork,
but as a time to do deeds unbecoming in the light of day
so that when they come to live in outer darkness forever,
they will truly be in their own element
left to suffer the fate they desired
what really breaks Gods heart is
that desire to live apart
to never kneel at night
in peaceful prayer
and see the moon softly illuminate the land
the sky aflame with stars.
